<p>[Page 55]</p><p>TUESDAY 23RD OCTOBER 1917<br />Left Desvres at 10. Raining heavily during morning but fined up about midday. Went through beautiful country &amp; after halting for lunch for &frac12; hr. pushed on to Therouannes [Therouanne] about 21 miles from Desvres. Portugese billeted here. Had leave &amp; had a meal in the village. Returned to the horse lines at 9.</p>
