I have not found it easy to meet your flattering request that I should send you some original document connected with the Dardanelles. Either these documents were so slight and trivial that they have been destoryed or else, they are so important to my own case as Commander of the Forces that I cannot part with them. Here, however, is something with may interest you - a bit of my original despatch as corrected by me in pencil after being dictated in the rough.
