along behind my pony's heels just like a pack of hounds. Arrived at the station I had lunch with a taciturn Scotch artilleryman who was also going down the line. Then we sat down & wished for the train. This we continued to do for some hours. Finally about 3.30 we managed to get aboard.
The artilleryman left me at Deir sinneid & I proceeded alone (except always for the six natives in another truck) to Gaza.
