The enumeration no doubt must contain the whole of the dress of a noble man of the Reign of Hen 7th we Learn from it that Doublets were then used by persons of Quality in their Full usual dress than in Earlier times were clothed Their habits of ceremony they probably used Cassocks under their Gowns in ordinary times tho no doubt in much earlier time they used
doublets when occupied in the exercises of war or of Hunting as Long Robes must have impeded the free use of their Limbs as however but as Breeches are a late invention the skirts of the doublet must have been Full & Girded tight round the waist to cover the thighs
about this Period the art of Painting was introduced into England st Stephens chappel now the house of Commons was ornamented with tolerable Painting when [litted?] up in the [gear?] The altar & Sepulture of Hen 7th was [xinal?] by Peter T. a Painter of Florence who finished it in the year 1519 & Receivd for the whole of his stuff & his Pains the sum of 1000 from the Late Kings1519 executors
