Arthurs Seat;
Arthurs Seat is the commencement of a tongue of Land which descends gradually to point Schank which latter forms the entrance to Western port; the base of Arthur's Seat is granite projecting in a high bluff head land, here are two or three Streams of good water issuing from Springs on the side of the hill, and also many ravines where the water apparently takes its course in the rainy seasons.
The Bay between Arthurs Seat and A is commodious and secure, the water deepens from 4 fathoms, 1 mile off to 16 in the center of the Channel; the beach is sandy and bold to at all times of tide; the South part of the bay is hilly, the bottoms very narrow onto which a black vegetable mold is washed down by the rains the summits are more or less light and sandy; the North part of this bay is sandy level with patches of
