soon marked by a flying cloud. They are fine muscular upstanding men, reaching about 5-10 in in height.
Those which we saw this morning were clad in navy loin cloths held in position by a "Gott mit uns," on which hung two bullet pouches & a saw-bayonet. How our troops envied their light equipment! All were armed with Mauser rifle & for headgear wore a grey-green slouch hat, with the turned up side held in place with the German tricolour.
At 5 oclock we returned again to camp at Herbertshohe.
