The office of Weight & Teller at the Mint, is to determine the weight, between the Master & Importer, of all Bullion brought for Coinage, and the Coin delivered out - Also between the Melter & Moneyers of all the Bars delivered by the former, and the scissell &c returned by the latter.  He therefore acts as an umpire between the parties.  It is also his duty to attend the tale of the monies at the Pix.  The due performance of the duties of the officer require a person of strict integrity, and skillful and practised in the art of weighing.

The salary is 130£ pr an. and - 12.10 for an Assistant
Total £142.10 with a Residence in the Mint

on the days of Importation & Delivery, the Scale maker attends to adjust the Beam & assist, for which he is paid a Guinea each time.  This constitutes the whole of the official
