then I shall be anxious to know the result which I hope you wil be so kind as to communicate when it is desided upon. 

I mentioned to you in my last the friendly manner in which the Governor, Capt and Mrs. Putland behaved to Mrs. Paterson and myself during our stay at Port Jackson, which I shall ever acknowledge & am sure had he remained in the Government our friendly communications would have continued.

It gives me pleasure in informing you that that we are all happy here & the accidental supplies I have received, together with a plentiful Harvest, has occasioned a new turn to our prospects;  those who were making fortunes (in my absence when at Port Jackson) by puting Kangaroo flesh into Store at the enormous price of one Shilling & six pence pr. pound when it might have been supplied at seven pence. That Animal food being no longer wanted - they are now turning their attention to Cultivation, those very people declared that nothing would grow & had I not superintended cropping
