Government House Sydney

November 5th 1807

My Dear Sir

A safe and good opportunity now offers for my writing to you by the Duke of Portland.  Captain Spence being an obliging person I have sent you under his charge my humble efforts in collecting a few Tubs & Boxes of plants in fine order, and have been in the Vessels about ten months. The Warratans and Gigantic Lillies are particularly fine, & three of the largest Plants which are in a Tub I hope you will see flower in a year or two, all together 39 plants.

The Warratan have all small Roots and made fine shoots. The Box of Norfolk Pines are very young but I risked them as I have another Box which I hope to send you next Year.  As Mr. Marsden applied to me to send home a Gigantic Lilly to Lady Spencer will you allow me to request she may come under your consideration, and as I cannot with gratitude neglect Lord
