neglect of her commander who I understand has been fonder of his bottle than his duty. He has continued his disobedience & [indecipherable] to me, but he is now repenting, however I consider him such a character as I will never suffer to come near me. I think that such another viscious evil disposed designing man could not have been found out in the Navy. I have written for him to be removed from me, and as my current situation might prevent my knowing of any representation he may make I have sent copies of all his letters which has given me past trouble to accomplish, but my intention I hope will excuse me to you my Dear Sir for troubling you with them and I pledge my honor to you that to this moment I have had no other communication than the Papers state or ever expressed myself uncivilly to him or shewn the least passion or ]anger. Some person has told him of the dangerous situation he stands in for having fire at me his superior officer when in the execution of my duty, which certainly will condemn him; not any Trial is now far off no Ships being here at the least not a sufficient number.
