I hope full bellies will make quiet minds, & the young generation I expect will be better Citizens than their forefathers.  Caley is just returned from a Journey to the Plains where Barrelliers [Barrallier] was, but he has not yet left Parramatta. King writes me that he is certain the Wild Birds cannot pass there present inclosed status and that he has promised many valuable Plants, but in great want of Paper. I have given him all there was in store, for there has been some sent out by last supplies, and we are in great want of any kind.  Mr. Humphrey is out on a Journey but expected to return daily.  Lt. Col. Collins is short of supplies which we shall send to him.  Patterson [Paterson] has not been heard from lately, but the Settlements are in a fair way of improvements; and I shall visit them in the course of another year.  It will be some time before I feel at home, but I hope when the Buffalo sails with King I shall have become familiar to every thing, & better able to detail to you my proceedings. He will sail in the course of a month & perhaps be home before this ship which takes this letter
