I nearly transcribed the letters to the King - as I sit here wh accounts for its being somewhat blotted then you may say why did you do it before Ah! I had not determined to write a triplicate. but my anxiety & the uncommon lapses in the Companys shipping of late have led me to it - we are not masters of circumstances - I have often a combat

between Idleness & propriety But I have vigor enough to get thro' this not without many faults. The agitation of my mind, joind to hurry & strange circumstances, prevent me from writing sense. I have only the sense to recollect the great obligations I have to you & to subscribe myself
