I am therefore to convey to you their Lordships' request that you will take charge of the sketches, charts, journals and other manuscripts now in the Admiralty, which I am directed to deliver up to yourself, or to your order; and, further, that, at your convenience, you will make out and transmit to me, for their Lordships' information and approval, a list of the subjects which you may deem it expedient to select for the embellishment of the publication: it being their Lordships' intention that, as in the case of Captain Cook's third voyage, the drawings and engravings shall be prepared at the publick expense, and the paper
