Dear Sir

Permit me to return you my best thanks for the benefit I have derived from your kind reccommendation [recommendation] to Prof:r Allamand;  nothing could exceed his attention & civility, nor that of his lady.  He desires me to send you "milles compliments" in his name.  Mr: Van Royen (who has just resign'd his professorship) has likewise been very kind to me.  With him I have look'd through some herbariums of Rauwolf, Boccone & Herman which are kept in the library here.  In the latter is a Specimen of the true Grana Paradisi, which I hope to find among some of our Amomum's at my return.  I have also seen Conium Royeni, the original specimen, & found it to be precisely Caucalis Daucoides, as Mr: Van Royen said in his letter to you, & which I confess
