Would there be any harm in sending him a kind of simple certificate, open, addressed to nobody, merely saying "he is a naturalist of talents, worthy of the any favour that may be shewn him as such," or something to that purpose, signed by you or me? He is fully worthy of this. I am sorry to give you this trouble knowing how many things you have to take up yr. time & thoughts, but I know also you never grudge any pains to serve science or scientific man.
