Sir

In answer to your enquiries concerning Tapioe I beg leave to refer you to the inclosed letter written by Cap. Wm Wilson, at whose house he was well entertained & would have continued had it not been for Mr. Kelsoe who withdrew him from thence.  Cap. W. Wilson took him into his house by desire of the officers of the Missionary Society & would have sent him to Port Jackson in one of his own ships; but Kelso took him away & pretended he would make him a Missionary. The Society then thought they had nothing further to do with him:  since which kelso has publicly abused them for neglecting Tapioe: but they think their character too well established, to regard Kelso's abuse.

If Tapioe really desires to be sent
