He cannot help flattering himself that a kind word from you to Lord Chatham or Mr. Stephens w.d procure him this employment, as he hears of no other candidate who has, as yet, applied for the place, but Mr. Berkley, who is only a Captain Lieutenant.
Your knowledge of Admiralty business will but point out what mode to pursue, if you w.d kindly interest yourself in my petitioner's behalf.
