I have now on board most of the Seeds and Plants this Country produces, that I think likely to thrive about Botany Bay, particularly the Coffee, Cotton, Indigo, Vine Orange, Coco, Jambo or Pomme Rose and the Cochineal which I hope to cultivate, & the Convalvoley Jalapa, Salsa Parilha & the Baunilha.

The Gum procured from the Tree which the Natives call Jatahy, if not known in England may be acceptable, it makes I am told the finest Varnish and the best Japan.

You will, Sir, excuse the hurry in which I write as it is now very late, & I expect to Sail in the Morning.

I have likewise sent a small quantity of the Peruvian balsam which has not, I believe, been adulterated, and shall be happy on every opportunity of shewing how much I have the honor to be
