Novr. 7 - 83

Dear Sir

When Mr. Souths Letter arrived which informed me that he would not divulge his secret without assistance from his Majesty or the public I found that the Caution of my first Letter was not misplaced I have been driven by fatal experience to make a general rule of never interfering in the Cause of those who ask public reward the  rest of speculators who wish to gain money of the public for benefit which the public is to derive from their studies & ingenuity who are numerous as the flies about a sugar bowell they never cease to tease me & no answer but a general one will suffice or rather stop their importunity
