Lloyd George has never before voiced such concern and seems to hang on only by repeatedly threatening to resign. Although Asquith has again attacked him sharply in the House of Commons, L.G. remained victorious once more. He knows full well that A. doesn't have the numbers behind him to form a majority government and that there are no other statesmen at hand, so just to threaten to resign is enough to silence the critics.</p>
