Church parade took charge – Scheme without troops with Hamilton towards Fremicourt.
Monday 2/7/17
Received news of the General being killed, saw Basil arranged to go up by car for funeral.
Tuesday 3/7/17
Left by car for Steenwerke, Bas, Wisdom, & Watson. Funeral at 3 pm. General killed by shell fire at The Shrine near Messines, buried at Trois Arbres [Belgium] near Steenwerke with full military honrs, stayed night at 4th Div.
