BRIGADE SIGNAL SECTION.

On 8:3:16 the New South Wales quota of the 3rd Divisional Signal Coy was formed at the Engineers Depot. Moore Park Sydney under the Command of Lt. T.J. Farrow. On the 15:3:16 the Section, which was designated the 9th. Bde. Signal Section, left for Broadmeadows Camp Melbourne, where they completed their training with the 3rd. Divisional Signal Coy.

9th. AUSTRALIAN MACHINE GUN COMPANY

On the 20:3:16 the 9th. A.M.G.Coy was formed at Victoria Barracks Sydney, marched to R.A. Show Grounds Moore Park where the Unit was issued with Clothing etc. After remaining there five days the Coy. entrained for Rutherford Camp, and on arrival at same were placed under the Command of Lt. Arnold, who afterwards passed over the Command to Capt. Gillies.
Active training was carried out; the Coy. being eventually commanded by Capt. J.M. Wells, who was in Command on embarkation. On April 30th. entrained for Sydney and were reviewed by Governor General at Moore Park, embarking next day.

9th. FIELD COMPANY ENGINEERS.

On 31:3:16 250 Men were picked from the troops at the Engrs. Depot Moore Park and sent to Roseberry Park Racecourse, where they were subsequently formed into the 9th Field Coy. Aust. Engineers, under the Command of Major T.A. Williams. The Company carried out very active Field Training until early in July.
All transport was completed before embarkation, as well as the accumulation of many Company Mascots. The Company was reviewed by the State Commandant on 30:6:16 and on 5:7:16 embarked on Transport at Woolloomooloo Bay Sydney.

9th. AUSTRALIAN FIELD AMBULANCE.

24th. COMPANY ARMY SERVICE CORPS.

In February 1916 the 24th. Coy. Aust. Army Service Corps was formed at Addison Road Camp Sydney, as a supply and Transport Coy. to the 9th. A.I.Bde., then training in Newcastle District.
The Company was placed under the Command of Capt. D. McHattie. Active training in Horse and Stable Management was carried out under efficient instructors until late in May, when preparations were complete for embarkation.

BANDS

A Band was formed in each Battalion, the 36th. Battn. being formed from the 1st. Liverpool Depot Band, who volunteered to go with the Battalion.

BRIGADE AND REGIMENTAL TRANSPORTS.

The Personnel for the Pde. and Regt. Transport was drawn from the A.S.C. Depot at the "Warren" Marrickville, Sydney, N.S.Wales., and joined up with the Brigade then training at Newcastle late in March.
