Monday 25 October 1915  
Steaming South in the first class Steam Ship Demosthenes, of the Aberdeen line.  11. A.M.  A submarine scare, ship canted by the sudden putting over of the helm.  11-30am. A water spout on the port  bow, reaching from the clouds to the water.
Rest of the day uneventful.
Passed close by & in the distance many islands. Each with forbidding precipitous sides rising   from the sea. Villages.  Cultivated areas.
Sea Calm.

Tuesday 26  October 1915  
Night without incident. Morning none more perfect for atmosphere & Sea.  
Steaming in S.S. Demosthenes a zig zag course down the Aegean sea.
Absence of Seabirds remarked. A few species of different kinds of land birds came on to the ship.

Wednesday 27 October 1915  
Morning perfect atmospherically & Marinely.  
In Alexandria a Harbour at 9-30 a.m. At wharf at 12-45 p.m. Landed on wharf at 1-45 p.m. At Majestic Hotel 2-30 p.m. Reported Head Quarters Mutapha [Mustapha]  D.A.A.S. & A.D.M.S. at 5-30 p.m.  €“  Took Jerrom to Variety show at  6 to 7-45 p.m.
Dinner Hotel Majestic 8-15 p.m. Saw Lieut. Col. Christian in his bed-room somewhat sick.   Bed. 10 p.m.
