reputation of the country for numismatical design taste could never be raisd into any degree of respectability, unless the Colonial assemblies should be hereafter endowd with clerical learning & the Secretaries of State their
under Secretaries & Clerks gifted with the rare faculty of correct taste & elegant judgement
Whether the Commee [Committee] of Privy Council for Coin are is a proper body to be intrusted with this business is left for others to judge decide, in Favor of the Idea it may be suggested, that it is a Colony department already formed established for the purpose of carrying into effect & interested in the execution details intimately connected with the business in question that it & is composd of men of grave characters, & many of them holding stations under government which command Personal Respect & attention & give a sufficient weight to the body at large to secure the Cooperation
