One Pacquet of seeds those you sent by Lieut Collins are arrivd & soon the other too your Letter mentiond we expect as well as more from you by the ships as they arrive, it is yet early in the season.

The King thank god is Quite restord.  We never saw his Majesty better both in body & mind than at Present he takes much delight in Kew Gardens & talks of enlarging it considerably.  We expect the acquisitions from Bot. bay will be great as it produces the greatest variety of any Known Country & more beautifull if possible than those of the Cape from a Climate very similar or rather somewhat cooler.

Your bill of Decr. 24 value 1869 Rix came duely to hand & was honord by me the sooner you send your accounts to me the better.

Your Assurd Friend
J. B.

P.S.   I have receivd some specimens among which were some new & Curious Plants it would Faccilitate much the describing new plants if you would send the specimens regularly.

While I was writing this for the dispatch of the Lady Juliana I recd Letter from you by the Alexr. & Cap Christie all the packages of which you have sent on acct. to this time are therefore safe & will be sown in good time a matter of which you know the extreme importance.

These Letters mention your having undertaken a long Journey which surprised me as your instructions are very absolute on that subject.  What I recommend  is a fixd residence during the ripening season  at any place where plants are abundant but more especialy that my directions relative to False bay be complied with & till you have exhausted that place & Hout bay which I expect will be found rich & trust you will remain direct, afterwards you may Propose excursions.

The vouchers of your account I trust you preserve as you do not send them home.

Mr. Masson
