will instruct all such persons as shall be placed under their care in the rearing cultivating and management of the same to the utmost of their power and that they will during their stay in the said Province act and demean and in all respects conform themselves to the order and directions of the Governor General or his Agents as aforesaid for the time being of the said Province to the utmost of their knowledge skill and ability  And  in  Consideration of the premises He the said Sir Joseph Banks doth hereby for and on behalf of his Majesty Covenant engage and agree to and with the said Edward Porter William Holgate Simon Benstead William Reynolds Mark Everson and Joseph Seymour That he the said Sir Joseph Banks shall and will pay the passage of them the said Edward Porter William Holgate Simon Benstead William Reynolds Mark Everson and Joseph Seymour to the said Province of Bengal and defray all the expences attending the same and also shall and will pay or cause to be paid unto each of them the said Edward Porter William Holgate Simon Benstead William Reynolds Mark Everson and Joseph Seymour at and after the rate of thirty shillings of lawful moneh of Great Britain for every week to be paid Weekly that is to say after the rate of five shillings for every day except Sundays to commence from the day of the date hereof and to be continued during their Voyage to the East Indies and for the Term of three years after their arrival in the said Province and during their continuance in the said employ and until their return and arrival in the port of London and for one week after their return to the said Port in case they shall return at the expiration of the said term of three years   And   also shall and will at the expiration of the said Term of three Years if the said Edward Porter William Holglate Simon Benstead William Reynolds Mark Everson and Joseph Seymour or either of them shall be desirous of returning to England in like manner pay their passage home and defray all the expences attending the same and in case they the said Edward Porter William Holgate Seeimon Benstead William Reynolds Mark Everson and Joseph Seymour shall and do in all respects perform and fulfill the Contract hereinbefore contained on their parts   Then   that He the said Sir Joseph Banks shall and will increase and advance the said wages hereinbefore contracted to be given as aforesaid in such manner and proportion as according to their several and respective skill merit and industry the said Governor General or his Agents shall think them reasonably entitled to  AND  the said Edward Porter William Holgate Simon Benstead William Reynolds Mark Everson and Joseph Seymour do and each and every of them  Doth   bind and oblige himself and themselves to the said Sir Joseph Banks in the penal sum of
