pipe, karki handkerchief, playing cards, cake of chocolate & a Auxt. match-box. Then the Y.M.C.A. gave each one a little leather pocket book with envelopes, paper & lead pencil. the sisters of the wards also gave them all a little present, so they did very well.

The patients here get a good time & have lots of amusement & invitations out to parties & theatres.

I was helping in D & E Wards. They both looked very pretty, with Red, Pink & White cherry blossoms. Shall tell you more about it when I return.

Plenty of Smokoes all day. An excellent dinner Roast Goose, cabbage, potatoes & ham, cooked well – a lovely plum pudding with white sauce & custard. Jellies & tin fruits. A pint of Beer each. Sweets, apples nuts & crackers.

Their tea was cold ham, beetroot, cakes & jellies – bread & tea.
