  & now he is gone. I'm almost afraid to open my letters from the front unless I for fear of hearing of some bad loss.

We are still fairly busy & are clearing out all we can to make room for the big rush.

Miss Sergeant (Mrs. Barrie's sister) wrote a very charming letter, saying she will be delighted to see me any time so I shall not spend much time in London when I get over.

Kelly is reading the papers but we shall have afternoon tea soon. It is only a very small Fee to be a member but it is a great comfort.

My patients are a very happy crowd &
I like my wards very much. Trust I shall have the luck to keep it.

Have not heard anything more about or from Fred.
