Firing line. Fred is out, just at present but not near us now. Have just has a present sent to me from one of his officers in another squadron not far from here. What do you think the dear boy sent me?

Some oranges, tin of fruit (pears) & a cake – sent by his bat-man; said he got them at a M.C.A. so you see they get near the boys & it is a great help to them.

We are not allowed to go beyond our tents, in fact, have not even thought
