The Speaker & Gentlemen of the Assembly
                        To
His Honor the President & Council

This House is of Opinion that Captn. Bligh Commander of his Majestys Ship Providence arrived from Otaheite with the Breadfruit Plants in consequence of his unparalelled sufferings in his last Voyage  and his unwearied perserverance to the final accomplishment of his Object calls for some lasting mark of the sense this Island entertain for such distinguished Merit propose to present to him a peice of Plate of the Value of One Hundred Guineas, at the expense of the Colony, if your Board concurs with us we request you will appoint one of your members to join Mr Fairbairn & Mr Windsor to wait on Captn. Bligh with a Copy of this Resolution
