nothing. It is just an introductory kind of existence, & one must not build up hopes of what may or may not happen next. I told them I would collect tickets if there was nothing else to do, but so far I have been very lucky – Barring Salisbury Plain Camp where my plank bed will always be in memory of what other many better men than myself have to get used to.
We are getting a lot of wounded from the front; some of the recent pushes have been very successful but at a considerable sacrifice of our own Australians. Regarding England itself I must say that I came home with the inform belief that we must win somehow some time, & my impressions now I am here more than increase ones confidence.
