of fresh water a̶l̶l̶ the Plants should be thoroughly sluiced w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶c̶l̶e̶a̶r̶ ̶f̶r̶e̶s̶h̶ ̶w̶a̶t̶e̶r̶ with it that all remnants of salt may be washed from their leaves & also that if any has got into the [mould?] it may be disolvd & run out, tho this may sometimes e̶x̶p̶e̶n̶d̶ consume half a boat Load of water the Commanding officer will not Object to the expence as it can be immediately replacd without affecting the general stock; some of the Least healthy plants may also be taken on shore where they must be placed in the shade but I doubt whether they will receive any material benefit unless the ship is detained
