wrote a Letter to the said Governor (a Copy of which this Deponent believes has been transmitted to the Admiralty) dated the fifteenth of November one Thousand Eight hundred and Six.  That the Governor was then absent upon the Hawkesbury River and did not return till the month of December and in the mean time the said Captain Short had written to him demanding a Court Martial upon the Deponent. That Complaints had been made to the Governor in respect of Disputes between Mr. Lye the Master of the said Ship as well as the Deponent and the said Captain Short and which said Master had been several times confined by order of Captain Short. That upon the Governors return a Court of Inquiry was appointed to investigate the Differences subsisting between the said Captain Short and his Officers and such Court consisting of Captains King and Houston and Lieut.t Oxley accordingly proceeded upon the said Investigation and reported their proceedings to the Governor.  That by an order of the Governor made upon the said Report the Master was released from Confinement and it was ordered,
