With regard to the affair of the paper Mr Stephens will undertake that the Admiralty will advance the money you appropriate for that purpose, to be repaid by those who are to have the profit of the publication.

This great stumbling block being removed the next question is who are to have the profits of the publication? this Mr Stephens said might be settled in any manner I thought proper, and that he should be glad to know my sentiments upon the subject. My answer was that I was not prepared to give an opinion at once upon so delicate a point, but that I would take it into consideration & see him again before I came to any determinate idea about it.
