May 2 1793 Boston Lincolnshire

We have this day carefully inspected and considered the Banking Books of Messrs Garfit & Claypon at Boston, Spalding, Louth and Spilsby and we are of opinion that the demands against them including all monies due to Government for the Land & Revenue Taxes up to Lady Day 1793 and all the outstanding Banking Notes amount to £70433.11.1 and that the amount of the debts due to them (after striking out £2058 which we conceive to be doubtful is £98398.0.9 consequently there appears to us to be a balance due to their House of £25906.9.8 exclusive of their private property, which we are credibly informed is at least worth £40,000.
