The Memorial of Mr James Dickson of Covent Garden, Brother in Law & Lawfull attorney to Mr Mungo Park, now Employd under the order of H.M. Sec. of State for this Colonial department, in making discoveries in the Interior of Africa, Humbly Sheweth
That your memorialist is the Brother in Law & the Lawfull attorney of the Said mungo Park, Constituted by him for the Purpose of Receiving on his account all such moneys as shall become due to him from time to time during his Absence from England & of dispersing of them in such manner as he is instructed to do for the maintenance & support of the wife & children of the Said mungo Park & more particularly for the Purpose of Receiving from the Person appointed to pay it, the sum of one thousand Pounds which H.M. Sec. of State for the Colonial department Promised to advance to him, on his agreeing to undertake the business in which he is now Employd, Payable one month after his departure from England
