Respecting a Commander for the Lady Nelson, It might be advantageous for the Service, if Lieutt Flinders [now?] second of the Reliance could have the Command of her with the Establishment of a compt. [compliment] of two mates & Eleven seamen.
As it is reported the Reliance is condemned, there may be a probability of Lt. Flinders [indecipherable] his passage home. If a Lieut could take her out equal to the Command of her in Care Mr Flinders should he come home an advantage might attend that regulation

To be armed with 12 Musquetoons fixed in [stocks?] in the Quarters [of the?] Commander
She should take out no other items than her arms & provisions
In sail during the whole of August, & to stop at the Cape for water - by which she will have the whole summer upon her
The boats to be fitted with light Carronades which will be of advantage in the surveying in case of being attacked by any large body of Natives
