that many of the productions on our high Mountains are similar to those on the Main and if the Tapogamia of Aublet cannot be converted into Wallenia I shall be happy you would name some Genus after that good man, the Lover of Botany and the friend of every Collector.  I shall write to him again and make no doubt but he will do himself the honr of writing to you this Summer.   

I have got some Fish but not so complete as I wish, shall do this in due time as also the inland shells as you desired.

Govr Campbell expects his Successor Genl Arudel [Alured] Clarke first Packet when he embarks for England if the latter arrives by the 5th of next month, with him goes our ingenious Friend Mr. Evd Home whose distance prevents me from sending the things by him for you

Say to Dr. Pitcairn he will have a numerous collection of seeds soon & tell that unbeliever Aiton, that a leaf or two will be in every doubtfull [doubtful] Parcell [parcel] of Seeds.  To Lady Banks and those Gentlemen I beg my best Complmts [compliments], & say to Friend Garthshore he must give me up this year.
