You would see Dr. Rutherford appointed to the offices I solicited.  The Crown has no other appointment in this University that I think myself fit for.

Say to Lady Banks, that I have Written for some Cassada, not in Cakes but the Meal which is better for [the] Puddings.  When it arrives will transmit it by some of the Lieth Traders.

I wish you would recollect what New things M. Swartz had from the Island.  I am out of the World of Botany here.  Intelligence of that sort or of new Books will be exceedingly agreeable.  I have the honr [honour] to be with perfect Esteem
