Edinburgh. 1st June 1788

Dear Sir

I did myself the Honr of writing you by Dr. Thibaud, and sent by him specimens of Plants in my appendix as have been arranged in your Herbarium, but not mark'd in my list at the time they were settled. I beg you will get M Dryander to look over them, and write their names against the Numbers as I have a copy of them here.

Clarke is turn'd Druggist and Apothecary in Kingston Jamaica!!  Dr. Dancer has got the Botanic Garden there and may do some good. Pray let Mr. Aiton send him Bulbs and seeds, particularly African or East Indian. I hear nothing of the Hortus Kewiensis [Hortus Kewensis - Catalogue of Plants Cultivated in the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew].
