The Salaries stated in the paper forwarded to me yesterday are as agreed to, they commence on the 10th of Feb. the day on which I was authorised to engage the assistants, half a years pay is to be advanced & the sooner this is done the sooner the gentlemen will be ready to join the Ship.
The astronomer is paid by the Board of Longitude, it appointed him, his salary commenced the 26 of Jan., his half year advance was paid immediately & he has been on board the Ship many weeks.
