imminently just in his investigation and at last took up my absence, & not giving myself up, much to my horror - saying what could any Man do when opposed by so many hundred Men under arms; at the same time, not inferring any such conduct to fear but to the contrary presence of mind and deliberation.  My reply shall be complete and I hope to be able to call in every evidence I have who have not had an opportunity to speak to the first matter which has been produced.
