The State of my Ship after all this severe Winter proves my Zeal for the Service; and now instead of proceeding to port, altho the late accident seemed to have demanded it, I have removed these apprehensions, and shall proceed again with Admiral Cornwallis when he goes to Sea. His letter to me annexed to my defence shows his confidence in my conduct. 

I must now advert, My Dear Sir, under all these circumstances, to the Persons who I have got with me.  Except my First Lieutenant they are a very bad set of Men as I ever heard of, & I have begged Mr. Marsden to assist or direct me how I can get them turned over.  Robt Cinnamond our Surgeon I really believe is the most designing wicked man ever came in to a Ship, and most highly perjured;  perhaps you may know some of the Sick Hurt Board & be able to get him removed from me, which would give me great satisfaction.  My Master whose name is Keltie was with Herrick [?] in the Waaksomheid [Waakzaamheid] when he lost himself in coming from Port Jackson to Cape Good Hope.  The Capt of Marines, is Mortimer who made that foolish Voyage to the South Sea - as soon as his Tour of duty is up I shall write to get rid of him & the Master shall likewise
