This day the Pitt Transport arrived Captain Manning.  In the course of the Voyage 18 Convicts have died - 13 Soldiers - 4 Women - 2 Children & 7 Seamen - They left Rio Janeiro the 1st. Inst -  Left the Dedalus there, but heard nothing of the Pandora, I notwithstanding suspect that she touched there. -  An Account is current here of a Battle having been fought between Tipoo & [British East India Co.] Army - I have procured a strange translation of it from the Dutch accounts, & send it for fear other information may not yet have reached England. - I unfortunately began yesterday Astronomical Observations  - it has occasioned vast pain in my head & return of my Nervous Fever, I must therefore desist, lest I am not able again to bear intense application. - Mr. Mason is very well, and has received your letter by the Pitt. - It is by the [indecipherable] Capt Lloyd I send this letter
