much earlier to which we may attribute the ill success of our Cruizers [cruisers]. - We are hourly expecting an increase to our Squadron, as soon as that takes place I apprehend a convoy will be appointed and determine my sailing - I look anxiously for it and the happyness[sic] to see you.
                 The collection of Plants from this Island, by my detention, will be more valuable, for when I first arrived they had not collected any of the kind that was uncommon, or in number above a score -- I am confident Wiles & Smith would do more in one month than all the  Botanists in & about Kingston would do in twelve.
                  I have received no publick[sic] acknowledgement as yet, but I have every reason to believe it will be handsome when the Assembly meet.
                To this moment I have not received the least information how any of my Friends are - I have not had a single letter from England -- I
