Norfolk Island Sept 1792

Dear Sir.

Your very obliging favor of the 20th January, I received the 20th Augt. altho you say nothing of your health I take it for Granted that you enjoy that treasure, As for myself I thank God I never in my life enjoyed a better state of health, to which is added the pleasure of having a fine [Chopping?] boy. I hope you received the different Articles which I sent you by the Pitt, but as My friend Paterson is collecting for you with great assiduity considering his bad health, any thing from one so uninformed as myself on those matters will be needless. I have a pleasure in the hopes that Paterson will stay here a twelve month longer

By the Pitt I sent Pine Cones & Branches in Spirits with a number of other little things, I had scraped together: there are none of the former now, when those are, I shall preserve & send them, untill I find from you that they are received -

Sir Joseph Banks, Bart.
