Sydney, Novr. 5th 1806
Dear Sir
As Governor Bligh writes to you by this Conveyance there is but little for me to say as I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you well in Aug next, nor do I know a greater satisfaction I shall feel on my arrival than to hear of your health.
As I have considered it a punticulious [?] of honour & friendship to give my worthy successor every information I am possesed of or can foresee for the future advantage of the Colony my stay here has been very considerably lengthened beyond that I intended after I gave the Government up still I have considered it necessary & indeed indispensible to sacrifice my own feelings, to what I owe to duty and the accomodation of respectable Character who will be a novice for many months In the very arduous task he has undertaken.
I enclose a letter from Cayley who of course will inform you of his movements & intentions. I have a very good Garden in boxes which I hope will reach the Thames in safety. I have a number of other things from all Quarters, and intend on my arrival at Spithead where I am ordered to request the Buffalo being ordered to the River, for the facility of getting
