last year produced 70 Bushells of Maize & none less than 30, I am much pressed for time otherwise I should trouble you with a longer letter, but as I have made Nepean look in to every corner of the Id. I shall refer you to him for every information.

The Flax & Canvass will speak for itself, of this Canvas 20 Women & [indecipherable] with the Assistance of ye Flax dresser & weaver - make 20 yds a Week - It must be recollected that there is enough Flax growing round the Cliffs of the Id. where nothing else will grow, to Supply the Navy of Great Britain with Canvas & Cordage - A Single Woman dresses ½ a pound a day from the leaf, ready for the Warp - The plant requires no Cultivation whatever the oftner it is Cut the Stronger the leaves grow.
