Lord Bagot presents his Comp.ts to Sir Jos.h Banks and takes the liberty of troubling him with a few lines, to enquire, If he possesses, either plants, or seeds, of the "Maclura" call'd by the Americans, Missouri Orange, Osage apple, & Bow Wood.  Lord Bagots reason for making this enquiry, is, that if Sir Jos.h, has them not already, he begs to offer him a few of the seeds, that he rec.d yesterday from his Brother; now Ambassador to the United States.  Lord B. supposes they worth offering - from the following extract of his Brothers letter. -

- "I send you enclosed, what I really believe is the great desideratum of all plant collectors viz something which nobody else, has yet got: In the enclosed paper, (which is in the Portuguese Ministers hand writing) you will find, Eight seeds, of a tree, which I have every reason to believe, has not yet found
