Dear Sir

I shall take the opportunity of an English Vessel sailing from Constantinople to convey three small Packets of Seeds to my Botanical Friends.  At the same time you will permit me to offer my services in case there should be any particular Objects of Natural History you wish to have from this Country.  From an European Flora I can hope to add but little to your Hortus Siccus yet not withstanding its extent I yet flatter myself that Greece may supply you with some Species Plants that you have not yet collected, those I hope to bring you myself the latter end of Autumn.  I would have sent you at present some of the dryed specimens had I not been apprehensive that you already possess a considerable part of them already & my Painter at the same time pleading the necessity of several Specimens -  to compleat his Figures - having taken only rough sketches in the Course of our Route.  At my Return there I trust Dear Sir you will find the time as on a former occasion to look over my collection & You shall then add what part of my Grecian Spoils you please to may your Collection.  I am now pursuing with an anxious Care the Grecian Flora.  Unfortunately it was already Summer when I entered the Levant.  The Spring Plants had passed their Flower & their Skeletons were too imperfect to ascertain their species.  Everything was burnt up in the Smaller Islands, but
